CSIRO Parkes Radio Telescope Visitor Centre

Located 20 kilometres north of Parkes off the Newell Highway the CSIRO's Parkes observatory is home to the world famous 'Dish'.
At 64 metres in diameter, it was the first fully steerable large antenna in the Southern Hemisphere.

The Parkes Show is held each August running over three days and two nights with plenty of entertainment, side shows and trade stands along with a spectacular fireworks display that can be seen from miles around.
Parkes Aviation Museum

The Parkes Aviation Museum is located at the end of Muzycuk Drive at Parkes Airport. It is currently housed in a former RAAF hangar from the airport’s time as a World War Two air force base.
Exhibits on display include a Bell AH-1 Huey Cobra, De Havilland DHC-4 Caribou (A4-275), De Havilland DH.
